Think Outside the App
You wouldn't expect to come across a profile for an email newsletter service when signing onto an online dating app, that's exactly what happened to many Bumble users today.
"theSkimm is the daily e-mail newsletter that gives you everything you need to start your day." They read through all the major news stories each day and then break it down for you and deliver it straight to your email each morning. Not exactly the profile you would expect to see. But THAT is what gets people talking and helps your brand to be found by those pockets of unreached audiences. You and your brand need your own version of a Bumble profile.
The "low hanging fruit" nowadays is to make a Facebook page. Maybe you've taken it to the next step and opened a Twitter or Instagram, and if you're a "digital marketing guru", maybe you'll have a Pinterest account for your business.
But what audiences need now is innovation and out-of-the-box thinking, and THAT is what theSkimm has done.
I encourgae you to sit down and think through some ways that you can spread the word about your brand, product or business that may seem unconventional.
Sometimes those can be the best ones that really get the ball moving for your online presence.
